An Invitation to Care
Connecting with wonderful people and spreading calming and caring vibes at Civic House's Autumn celebration last Sunday really warmed my heart!
My time there also got me thinking. Many shared how self-care keeps slipping to the bottom of their priorities as they pour energy into caring for others, tending to projects, and managing life's many demands.
Some opened up about feeling stressed, exhausted and caught in prolonged states of physical and mental tension... yet, caught in 'firefighting' mode, self-care keeps getting postponed.
Does "I'll take care of myself later, when things calm down...." sound familiar?
I've been there too. That place where taking time for yourself can feel almost... selfish, or a superfluous luxury you just don't feel you have the time for. But today, I'd like to invite you to reflect: is that actually true?
What I've learned from personal experience is that when we're running on empty, everything suffers - our clarity, our wisdom, our health, even our ability to care for what and who we love.
Yes, we are resilient beings, but we simply cannot pour from an empty cup...
When we're depleted, we often find ourselves trapped in a cycle - more tension leads to more stress, leads to more exhaustion, decisions and ways of being that do not serve us... Think about those times when you've been stuck on that hamster wheel. How did it feel?
But there's another way. Simple, consistent care can break this cycle. It's about saying: "I deserve to feel well so I can show up fully for my life."
The quality of our embodiment & presence matters - to ourselves and to others.
What I wish to do with Iremia is to help nurture this cycle of care. Receive it. Pour it back. From our personal wellbeing to the world around us - everything flourishes when tended with it.
As Autumn deepens around us, I invite you to pause and explore: What would shift if you treated self-care not as a luxury, but as essential as breathing? What nourishes you? What unattended pain or stress points can you look after to improve the quality of your life experience?
π Your Autumn invitation: Make a list of what truly restores you. Choose one small act of self-care each day. Whether it is a long bath in candlelight, a walk in Nature, working with a professional to receive support, or sipping a cup of nourishing herbal tea and having 30 quiet, restful minutes to yourself...whatever it is, give yourself that gift. Don't wait for the "right time" - create it. See what shifts this approach creates.
If you're feeling called to tend to your wellbeing this season, I'm here to support your journey β¨
Warmly,
Eleni
